Great Spotted Woodpeckers English Bird Giclee Print

When I was about 14 my dad took me walking specifically to show me a woodpecker's nest in one of the trees on Brendon Hill. We watched the parents fly in and feed a little red capped youngster. The image has been in my head ever since and finally I have been able to batik it, lots of greens with the dappled light of the sun coming through. The juvenile woodpecker has a bright red cap on the top of his head which turns to black when it reaches adulthood.
